Be honest on your application and get involved withOct 05 2004Business - Management and Administration
Be honest on your application and get involved with something...SGA, work, whatever. Also if you don't think you have the grades, apply to a department that has a small population and needs students. That way you can transfer after first year within the University without worrying about competing with students outside of GWU. For example, the business school is very competitive. Apply to the drama dept., take general prereqs that are required for every Freshman then switch majors your second semester...that goes for all Universities, not just GWU.

Don't worry about itSep 13 2004Other
Don't worry about it. I had a gpa of 3.8 and one extracuriccular activity. keep your grades up and don't flunk the sats, and you'll be fine.
SAT: 1350 Female
I didn't put THAT much effort into my applicationSep 07 2004Biology
I didn't put THAT much effort into my application. A decent SAT score (1200's), a solid GPA (3.7) and a good essay did it for me. I did not visit the campus until after I got accepted and I did not interview.
SAT: 1230 Female
Hmmm getting into GWAug 04 2004Other
Hmmm getting into GW. Well there are really a ton of way to get into the school. Honestly its not that hard at all if you are a good student and do several things. 1)Definitely get an interview with GW reps. that come to your high school 2) Definitely get an interview with someone in the admissions department 3)Start writing your essays early so that you can have people look at them 4)Make sure you stand out in your essays and interviews in a positive and interesting way 5)Dont tell the admissions department why GW is so great, tell them why you are so great and belong there. You are basically showing you are a match for the school 6) THIS IS IMPORTANT! Make sure you get a business card from each "important" person you deal with and write them a quick professional thank you letter. That is real big because they will see you name around a lot and you wont just be another number and test score.
